Premiums

use the 'Premiums' definition screen to define the premiums you may offer as inducements to subscribe or renew. (The premiums that you define here pop up when you right click in the 'Premium' field on the 'Offers' definition screen and the order forms for new orders and renewals.)

QuickFill uses the premiums that you define here both for renewals and for marketing. For convenience, we've included 'Premiums' under both 'Renewals' and 'Marketing'. But you see the same set of premiums no matter how you choose to access the 'Premiums' screen.

Defining premiums

When you select 'Marketing' or 'Renewals' under 'Definitions' on the main menu, and then select 'Premiums', you'll see one of two screens. If you select 'Premiums' for the first time after installing QuickFill, you'll see a screen with a blank form for defining the premium.

If you've already defined some premiums, you'll see a list of the premiums you've defined in the upper portion of the screen and the "New," "Change," "Replicate," and "Delete" options running along the bottom.

If you haven't yet defined any premiums, fill in the blank form and click on "OK" to save your changes.

If you've already defined some premiums and want to create a new one, click on "New" and then fill in the fields described below. Once you are done, click on "OK." If the premium you want to define next is similar to one you've already defined, you can replicate the existing premium by moving the cursor to the premium you want to replicate and clicking on "Replicate."

Premium code

Enter a code to identify the premium. QuickFill sorts the list of premiums alphabetically by this code.

Description

Enter a brief description of the premium. This description appears with the premium code on the premium selection list that pops up on some other screens when you right click in the premium field. QuickFill also uses the code and description to identify the premium on your reports.

Pick number for shipping

An entry in this field is optional. You can enter a code that identifies the stock number or other identification for the premium. If you enter a code in this field, it appears on the header for each group of premium labels that QuickFill prints when you run the 'Issue labels' update (click here for details on the issue labels update ).

Editorial reprint (audit system field)

If the premium you are defining is an editorial reprint, click once in this field so that a check mark appears in it. Otherwise, leave this field blank.

Value of premium (audit system field)

Enter the value of the premium. The amount entered in this field will be used when calculating the net price for ABC audit reports.

You can also change the definition of a premium by moving the cursor to the premium you want to change and double clicking on it, or clicking once on "Change." You can delete a premium that is not being used by moving the cursor on the code you want to delete and clicking on "Delete."
