Subscriber 3 tab (Qualification data)

Select records with or without qualification data

This field allows you to include, in the report, subscribers regardless of whether or not you have qualification data for them. (If you select this field, the qualification data criteria fields will be ignored.)

Select records with qualification data dated…

These fields allow you to include, in the report, only those subscribers for whom you have qualification data. If you enter a date range other than "All dates" here, a subscriber will only be included in your report if their qualification data has a date that falls within the specified range.

Select records with no qualification data

This field allows you to include, in the report, only those subscribers for whom you have no qualification data.

Qualification data criteria fields

The fields to the right of the 'Select records…' fields are grouped into three blocks separated by the word "or." This means that the subscriber will be selected if the conditions you specify in any one of the three blocks are satisfied. Within each block, the rows are combined with the word "and." This means that the subscriber will be selected only if all of the conditions within that block are satisfied. For example, if you entered "3 is equal to 2" in the first row and "3 is equal to 5" in the second row of the first block, only the subscribers who answered 2 and 5 to question 3 would be selected. (To select subscribers who answered either 2 or 5 to question 3, you would enter "3 is equal to 2__ 5__" in the first row.)

Each row of the filter can be used to select responses to one question on the qualification form. On the left side, you enter the question number to be tested. On the right side, you enter the codes you want to select for that question. To select all subscriptions except those with the codes you entered, click on the 'not equal to' field to select it; click on the 'is equal to' field to select only those subscriptions with the codes you entered.

The last two rows of each of the three blocks are used for questions that are entered as exact numeric values (such as the questions 6B and 6C in the sample qualification form). For numeric fields, you enter a range of values on the right side instead of a list of codes. You may also exclude a range of values clicking on "not between" field.

Example: Suppose your publication uses the sample qualification form mentioned above. You are interested in knowing how your circulation would be affected if you dropped all nonpaid subscribers whose companies' primary end product is software and who have fewer than five employees. Translating this statement using the codes and values you get, "What would happen to my circulation if I dropped all nonpaid subscribers who gave answer number 8 to question 4 and who have answered question 6C with a value from 0 to 5." (Note that we can exclude subscribers with fewer than five employees even though QuickFill is reporting them in the category "<10.") To produce a circulation report that excludes these subscribers you would choose the 'Select records with qualification data dated' field (leaving "All dates" for the date range) and then fill out the qualification data filter as follows:
