This report allows you to generate renewal notices (similar to the standard QuickFill renewal notices) for subscribers even if they are not due for renewal. You might, for example, use this to send a special renewal offer at Christmas time or before a price increase. You may also use this report to send notices that look like renewals to prospects.
The 'Blanket renewals' report will create standard renewal notices along with a 'Blanket renewal summary' report. The summary report will display the total number of renewal notices created, the name of the file in which they are located, and the filter screen. If you want to create renewal notices for gift or group subscriptions that list the ship-to customers, use the Gift Blanket Renewals Report instead.
The filter for the 'Blanket renewals' report has seven tabs. Tabs three through seven are same as tabs three through seven of the 'Promotional labels' report. You can move easily between tabs by using the Ctrl-RightArrow and Ctrl-LeftArrow key combinations or your mouse.
Date to be printed on the notices
Enter the date that you would like to be printed on the renewal notices.
Create notices for this publication
Enter the publication for which you would like to produce notices.
Note: blanket renewals for prospects
If you select prospects on the second tab of the filter, they will receive notices for the publication that you enter in this field. Additionally, renewal notices for prospects will show the customer number instead of an order number, and they will have an effort code of "CX" (instead of "RX") so that you can recognize them when you are keying orders.
Renewal effort
Enter the renewal effort that you want QuickFill to use to generate the notices. The effort controls the offers that will appear on the notices.
In the QuickFill Form Designer create a new form set (or replicate an existing form set) that contains a renewal form that has the text and layout you desire. Create a renewal package definition with a the form set code you used in the Form Designer. Link this renewal package to the renewal effort that you specify on the blanket renewal report screen.
Alternatively you can create mail-merge renewals by linking the effort to a renewal package with a 'Printed notice format' of "Mail-merge" and MMERG1, MMERG2, MMERG3, or MMERG4 in the 'Mail-merge format code' field. (Click here for details on the 'Notice format' and 'Custom format code' fields.)

Right click once in these fields to select the messages you want to print on the notices.
Document descriptors
Enter the words that you would like to appear on the top and bottom of each notice. The words "Subscription renewal" appear on standard renewal notices and therefore default into these fields. To enter your own words, type over the existing entries.
For subscriber, include expiration date of current subscription
Clear this field if you do not want subscribers' expiration dates to be printed on the blanket renewals. Otherwise, leave this field as it is and QuickFill will print the expiration date of the current subscription for subscribers selected to receive a renewal.
