This report shows you all the new orders you've received on each tracking code—the code you assign to each order when you first enter it into QuickFill. (Click here for a for a complete explanation of tracking codes.) You can get a summary, a detailed report, or both.

The summary version treats all new orders from one tracking code alike. It does not distinguish between different offers on the same tracking code. Use the summary version to look at the overall response on different tracking codes.

The detailed version treats each price, subscription term (6 issues, 12 issues, 18 issues, etc.), and premium variation of a new order on a tracking code as a separate category. Use the detailed report to analyze the response to different offers on the same tracking code.

For the first seven weeks after the earliest order you select on the filter, the detailed report tells you how many orders with a particular tracking code you received each week. After seven weeks, the report lumps all new orders with a particular tracking code together. For example, say on tracking code 301 you received 7 new orders in the first week, no new orders in the next six weeks, and 20 new orders thereafter. You'd see "7" under the "Week 1" heading, "0" under Weeks 2 through 7, and "20" under the heading ">7."

The 'New order analysis' report contains a date field called, 'First Response'. QuickFill enters in this field the date of the earliest order that falls within the order date range you select in the filter. The 'weeks' on the report are the seven-day intervals beginning with the first Sunday on or before the date of the first response.

Example: Say in the filter you select new orders you received in only the last two months. Your report will show as the date of 'First Response' the first order of the last two months, even though you may have earlier orders in your database. (If you didn't have this first response date, you'd have no way of knowing to which period the seven-week total referred.)

The report also shows the total new orders you've received broken down by tracking codes. And, if you filled in the mailed quantity on the tracking code definition, the report tells you the number of packages you've mailed and the percentage who responded.

Sorted by

This report provides the ability to choose the manner in which the data is presented. The 'New order analysis' report may be sorted in five different ways (as discussed below). Each way displays all new orders broken down by tracking code within the category you specify here. Left click once in this field to select from a list of "sort" options.

by Marketing Plan

The 'by Marketing Plan' version shows you all the new orders you've received broken down by marketing plan. Use this version for analyzing the response to mailings that you've completed. (Click here for an explanation of marketing plans.)

by List

This version shows you all the new orders you've received broken down by list. Use it to analyze how well a list has performed over a period of time or just to see what use you've made of a particular list. (For example, you might want to see how many times you mailed to prospects on a list, how many packages you mailed each time, and what kind of response you got.)

by Channel

The 'by Channel' version shows you all new orders broken down by the channel you specified. Use it to analyze the number of new orders you received through a specific channel or channels. For example, you can use 'Channel' to see how many new orders you received via direct mail, telephone, or fax. Or you can use 'Channel' to show which salesperson was responsible for generating each new order.

by Package

This version shows you all new orders broken down by marketing package. Use it to compare the effectiveness of different marketing packages.

by Publication

The 'by Publication' version shows you all new orders broken down by publication. Use it to see how many orders you're receiving—or have received—for each publication.

by Service Code

This version shows you new orders broken down by service code. This is useful if you use the service code to distinguish between types of service, print or electronic delivery for example.

Summary, detailed, both

The summary report treats all new orders from one tracking code alike. It does not distinguish between different offers on the same tracking code. Use the summary version to look at the overall response on different tracking codes.

The detailed report treats each price, subscription term (6 issues, 12 issues, 18 issues, etc.), and premium variation of a new order on a tracking code as a separate category. Use the detailed report to analyze the response to different offers on the same tracking code.

Internet Extension orders

Select 'Include' if you would like to include QFIE orders, 'Exclude' if you would like to exclude QFIE orders, or 'Only' if you would like to produce a report only with QFIE orders. This field is only active for QFIE customers.

Order date range

Leave the 'Order date' fields as they are, and your report will include the past year of orders. You can change the date range by right clicking the 'Order date range' field and selecting the appropriate range. If you wish to use a specific date, select the 'Custom dates' range and enter the dates in the date fields.

Include tracking codes with no orders

If you check this field, your report will include tracking codes even if no orders have been entered using a particular tracking code. This is important if you are analyzing a marketing plan since it is possible to have a portion of the plan not produce any orders; your results would be misleading if you didn't know this.

Include 'all other' category

Sometimes it is useful to be able to compare the response rate of a given marketing plan, list, channel, or package against the average of all of the others. To do this, click once in this field so that a check mark appears in it and then select one or more codes in the major category on which you are sorting the report. For example, suppose you selected sort 'by Marketing Plan'. Click once in the 'Include all other category' field, then fill in the 'Marketing plans' field with the plan codes you want to examine and the report will include one section for each of the plan codes you selected, plus an "All other plans" section.
