This report shows tax jurisdiction/rate code accounting entries for the current accounting period; it is similar to the sales tax report that is created when you close an accounting period. The information in this report is broken down into categories based on the tax jurisdiction table. Only those orders for customers whose zip/postal codes fall within one of the ranges in the table are included in this report.
Summary, Detailed
The summary report is sorted by country and then by state. It shows the total tax, tax collected, tax uncollected, taxable sales, non-taxable sales, and total sales for each state and the jurisdictions within that state. The detailed report is sorted by publication and then by country, state, and account code. It shows the accounting entries for the tax and sales amounts reported in the summary report.
Date range
You can specify a date range, within the current period, so that the report will only include accounting entries for the dates within that range.
You can also select the publications, companies, or states to be reported on by entering the publication, company, or state codes in the filter fields; wild cards may also be used.
This report only shows you data for the current period. When you close a period (or year), QuickFill purges the batch reports from which the sales tax report is created. Therefore, sales tax reporting for prior periods is not available.
