The filter for the subscription export has several tabs. The tabs, except for the first, are the similar to those for the Subscription export. You can filter on a wide variety of characteristics of the customer records, subscription records and order records.
Single subscriptions, two-party subscriptions, group subscriptions
Normally the report will include all three types of subscriptions. By un-checking one or more boxes you can narrow your selection to a particular type of subscription. This might be useful if you want to verify that all of your two-party and group subscriptions are assigned to a special renewal series that you have set up for gift subscriptions. This is easily accomplished by choosing to sort the report by renewal series and checking just the two-party and group subscriptions boxes.

If your filter criteria includes any customer fields then it is important to understand how those filter criteria are applied to two-party and group subscriptions. The rules are as follows:
For single subscriptions there is only one customer record, so the customer filter criteria are applied to that record.
For two-party subscriptions the customer filter criteria are applied to the ship-to customer.
For group subscriptions the customer filter criteria are applied to the group members, but exactly what gets counted depends on whether you chose to count subscriptions, customers or copies. If you are counting subscriptions then the subscription will get counted if any group member matches the customer filter criteria. If you are counting customers, then only those group members that match the customer filter criteria will be counted. If you are counting copies then the number of copies being sent to each group member will be counted if that member matches the customer filter criteria.
