The adjustment transaction can be used to make adjustments to either order records or prospect records. The Transactions menu contains either "Adjust order" or "Adjust prospect" depending on the type of record you have selected on the lookup screen. Click here for information on making adjustments to orders.

Once a prospect name has been entered into QuickFill, you can change the address data using the 'Address change' transaction. To change the list code or publication code that the name is linked to, or to change the prospect date, you must use the 'Adjust prospect' transaction.

To adjust a prospect subscription, you must first lookup the prospect record that you would like to adjust. (Click here for details on the lookup procedure.) Once you are on the "Subscription and prospect record" lookup screen, select 'Adjust prospect' under 'Transactions' on the main menu.

A screen, with the fields below, will appear.

List

Enter the code that identifies the mailing list from which you got this name. You must have previously defined the list code using the 'Lists' definition screen (under 'Definitions', 'Marketing'), which you will find under 'Marketing' on the 'Definitions' menu. You may type a list code or right click to obtain a list of the codes that have been defined.

Publication

Select the publication for which this person is a prospect. You may type a publication code or right click to obtain a list of publication codes. Entering the publication code is only useful for controlled circulation (audited) publications when you wish to indicate that the person is a qualified prospect for a specific publication. Normally you will leave this field blank.

Prospect date

Enter the date when this person became a prospect.

Source (audit system field)

The means by which you receive the request for a subscription or the information source you use to determine that the person is qualified. Right click once with the cursor in this field to select from a list of sources (a.k.a. request types).

Qualification date (audit system field)

Enter the date the customer has filled in on the qualification form. This date is used to determine the age of qualified subscribers for Paragraph 3(a). (If you have the audit system, click here for details on the qualification date.)

Qualification data (audit system fields)

Enter the subscriber's responses to each of the questions on your qualification form. There will be one line for each question defined on the publication definition audit tab. Nonqualified subscribers may have qualification data, but it is not required.

Personal identification data (audit system fields)

Enter the response to the personally identifying question that was used when qualifying the subscriber by telephone or over the Internet.  The question should be one that only the subscriber would know the answer to.  It is intended to be used by the auditor to verify the authenticity of the qualification data

Since the 'Adjust prospect' transaction is not a batched transaction, it is recorded in the miscellaneous batch. Click here for details on the miscellaneous batch.
