You use the 'Adjust qualdata' transaction to make changes to the classification, request type, qualification date, or qualification data of a subscriber. You may need to use this transaction either to correct a data entry error or to enter updated qualification information for an existing paid subscriber. For example, you may have included qualification questions on your reader service cards. When you process these cards you want to update the qualification data for the subscriber, but you don't want to change the expiration date or create a renewal order.
To adjust a customer's qualification data, you must first use 'Lookup' to locate the customer. (Click here for details on the lookup procedure.) Once you are on the "Subscription and prospect record" lookup screen, select 'Adjust qualdata' under 'Transactions' on the main menu.
A screen, with the fields below, will appear. You may not change the customer address on this screen; use the 'Address change' transaction instead.
Source
The means by which you receive the request for a subscription or the information source you use to determine that the person is qualified. Right click in this field to select from a list of sources (a.k.a. request types).
Classification
The audit subscription class under which the customer's subscription is classified. Right click in this field to select from a list of subscription classes. Every subscription to an audited publication must be classified under one of the acceptable audit classifications.
Qualification date
Enter the date the customer has filled in on the qualification form. This date is used to determine the age of qualified subscribers for Paragraph 3(a). (If you have the audit system, click here for details on the qualification date.)
Qualification data
Enter the subscriber's responses to each of the questions on your qualification form. There will be one line for each question defined on the publication definition audit tab. Nonqualified subscribers may have qualification data, but it is not required.
Personal identification data
Enter the response to the personally identifying question that was used when qualifying the subscriber by telephone or over the Internet. The question should be one that only the subscriber would know the answer to. It is intended to be used by the auditor to verify the authenticity of the qualification data.
Since the 'Adjust qualdata' transaction is not a batched transaction, it is recorded in the miscellaneous batch. Click here for details on the miscellaneous batch.
