A prospect name is always linked to a mailing list code, so before you enter any prospects you should define a list code for the names by selecting 'Lists' under the 'Marketing' submenu of the 'Definitions' menu. (Click here for details on defining lists.)

Fields on the prospect batch screen
When you select 'Prospects' under 'Transactions' on the main menu, you'll see a batch header form. On the top line is the number QuickFill has assigned to this batch and the date. Enter in the field below—'Declared number of items'— the number of prospects in this batch. Fill in the remaining fields of the batch header as described below:
List
Fill in the list field of the batch header if all or most of the prospects are from the same list. You can type the list code into this field, or right click once to select from a list of codes.
Publication
You may enter a publication code in this field by typing the code into this field, or right clicking to select from a list of publication codes. There is no advantage to linking a prospect name to a publication in the nonaudit system.
Rentable
If all or most of the prospects you are entering may not be rented to other publishers, then enter an 'N' or an 'I' in this field. A code of 'N' indicates that the names are not rentable at all, while a code of 'I' indicates that the names may be rented for internal use only.
Request type (audit system only)
If all or most of the prospects have the same request type, fill in this field with the appropriate request type code. You can type in the correct code, or right click to select from a list of request type and classification codes. (Click here for a list of request types.)
Once you have finished entering a prospect and have clicked on "OK" to save it, QuickFill returns you to the batch header form. The batch header now shows you a summary of the transaction(s) you've just entered on a line(s) on the bottom half of the screen. (You'll see the prospect name, company or city and state, and zip code for each prospect entered.) If the batch is balanced it will ask you if you want to post it.
