Use 'Add bill-to' to add a separate billing address to a subscription that you entered with only a single address. Completing this transaction changes the single subscription into a two-party subscription.
If you just want to change the bill-to address for an existing two-party or group subscription, use the 'Address change' transaction instead.
To add a bill-to address to a single subscription, you must first lookup the subscription to which you would like to add the bill-to. (Click here for details on the lookup procedure.) Once you are on the "Subscription and prospect record" lookup screen, select 'Add bill-to' under 'Two-party' under 'Transactions' on the main menu.
The customer address form will appear. (Click here for details on the customer address form.) You may now enter an existing customer number or enter the billing address by using the same conventions used when you enter a customer address for a new order. When you're finished, click on "OK."
Duplicates
If you enter a new customer address, QuickFill searches your customer file to see if the new bill-to address duplicates an existing address. If it finds a potential match, it displays the matching addresses and asks you whether it's the same customer. If it is not, respond by clicking on "Not the same person." If the two are the same customer, click on "Same person." QuickFill displays both records and waits while you make minor corrections to resolve the differences between the two. Click here for a detailed explanation of duplicate detection.
Since the 'Add bill-to' transaction is not a batched transaction, it is recorded in the miscellaneous batch. Click here for details on the miscellaneous batch.
